Matt and Abbey’s micro wedding at Ledges Hotel in Hawley, PA on September 21, 2024, was equal parts heartfelt, fun, and colorful. With around 50 of their closest friends and family, every moment reflected their personalities, their love, and the joy of celebrating in an intimate outdoor ceremony surrounded by nature. A First Look & Emotional Ceremony in PA from a Wedding & Elopement Photographer

Matt and Abbey chose to do a first look. Which was a private, sweet moment before the ceremony. When Abbey walked down the aisle during their outdoor ceremony, Matt couldn’t hold back tears. The emotional reaction was beautiful. Proving that even with a first look, seeing your partner surrounded by loved ones for the first time on the aisle is incredibly special. 

Their ceremony took place in a scenic, nature-filled setting at Ledges Hotel. With the soft rustle of trees and open skies providing a perfect backdrop for their intimate celebration.

Fun, Colorful Details

One of the other things that made Matt and Abbey’s day so memorable was their playful, personalized details along with other private moments:

Matt wore a pink suit, which perfectly matched the fun and romantic vibe of the day.

Pink accents appeared throughout their decor. Including a pink and red wedding cake and touches of pink in floral arrangements.

Disco balls added a quirky, celebratory twist to the overall aesthetic.

Even in between photos, I could hear the couple whispering compliments to each other, celebrating how happy and good they looked.

DIY & Personal Touches

Aside from the stunning venue and Abbey’s beautiful gown, Matt and Abbey did nearly everything themselves. From decorations to the cake to the overall flow of the day. Their personalities shone through in every detail. As a Hawley, PA elopement photographer, capturing those DIY touches and candid family interactions is always a highlight.

And speaking of family—they were clearly fun and full of energy, which made the day even more joyous. From laughter during portraits to cheering during the ceremony, the celebration felt both intimate and full of life.
